Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have thoracic back pain that only occurs when I lay down at night. It literally takes my breath away at first, then eases. I find when I try to roll over to my right side the pain is intense at that point as well. The location of it is below my shoulder blade on my left side. I have started getting a pain on the right side as well today that seems to be centered around my shoulder blade as well, this pain seems to run from my back to my chest. Please advise. I just want to know if this sounds muscular or could be something more serious.
As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and plan for an MRI scan to rule out spine related problems.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
